Meeting Minutes for Tuesday, April 26, 2005
 | Meeting is called to order. Visitors welcomed. |
| A motion is made by John Tarantino and seconded by Marty Osborne to accept
the March meeting minutes. |
| Treasurer’s report by Chuck Mabley shows an end of the month of March
balance of $5,651.75. Motion made by Dennis Tipsword to approve the report and
reimbursements to Chuck Mabley. Seconded by John Tarantino and accepted. |
| Trail Commission Meeting:
| MDOT is to do a report on the amount of income that could be gained from
rental property. This money could possibly go towards maintenance expenses. |
| Phase II and III are lagging because of federal regulations on funding. |
| The commission will formalize the policy of easement costs for leashes
of infrastructure on trail property. |
| A parking study was done on the Phase I section. Possible parking areas
include:
| 24 Mile & Shelby Rd. |
| 25 Mile (2 possible sites) |
| 26 Mile & Mound (north of 26, this will be a significant site) |
| West Road |
| At the location of George Adam’s plan (currently does not exist) |
| Van Dyke exchange area |
| Van Dyke and 29 Mile (just west and planned larger) |

| A citizen, Joe Allen, wants to buy a little bit of land unoccupied due
to the rerouting of the trail. This could possibly go through after
appraisal. |
| Chuck Mabley handed out an informational sheet that outlines the MDOT
request process. |
|
| Our May 22 event (Biking the trail) is planned to take place at 10 a.m.
starting at the Onyx ice arena parking lot.
| Volunteers might be needed for the tent. |
| John Tarantino will contact Al Goetzinger about getting the shirts to
the event. |
| Christine Hamilton will let the ice arena know that we are coming. |
| If it rains, the event will be canceled. |

| Covered bridge report (Neil Kocsis):
| We are currently looking for a structural engineer. |
