Meeting Minutes for Tuesday, September 28, 2004

bulletMeeting is called to order.
bulletThere was no quorum for the August meeting.
bulletThe July meeting minutes are approved.
bulletTreasurer's report by Chuck Mabley shows an end of the month of August balance of $5,364.80.
bulletCovered bridge report:
bulletNeil Kocsis presents several designs for the board to peruse. There was discussion of a possible design being painted on the bridge. Some recommend that we just do a stain to keep the bridge rustic looking.
bulletMany members seem to lean towards the # 2 bridge design presented.
bulletChuck Mabley makes a motion that design #2 is pursued with the Trail Commission. This is seconded by Dennis Tipsword and the motion passed.
bulletSeptember Trail Commission Meeting: (thanks to Chuck Mabley)
bulletAnnounced that all funds promised are theirs and paid off. The trail is paid for!
bulletSuggestions were taken for the creation of a handbook. Suggestions were made for the handbook to include rules and procedures for special use, picnic areas, and use of foliage for landowners. It will be compiled this winter.
bulletA $500 donation was received. A policy will be written for remembrance/honorariums.
bulletThere was a request from Stoney Park Apartments, at Mound and 26 Mile. They would like to run an apron onto the trail. This form of trail access seems as though it will work.
bulletThe George Adam's proposal is still being negotiated.
bulletRomeo Court Public project is also being negotiated.
bulletChuck Mabley informed the Trail Commission about Neil's bridge project.
bulletAnthony Casasanta says they've been doing daily inspections for clearing stones off of the highways.
bulletBids will soon be taken for next year's maintenance contract.
bulletStatus for the pre-engineer phase 11 and III will possibly start this winter.
bulletOctober elections are corning up.
bulletRich Platz mentioned that some sort of commemoration of Lee Sorensen should be made on the trail. This could maybe be done at the Richmond dedication ceremony.
bulletMarty Osborne will be missing the next few meetings.
bulletMarty Osborne made a motion for someone to fill his position, which was seconded by Chuck Mabley. Neil Kocsis was made the acting board member.
bulletA question was posed by Jim Kaatz, about the Richmond Township progress.
bulletMarty Osborne makes a motion to adjourn. Rich Platz seconds the motion. Meeting adjourned.

Next official meeting is Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at Camp Rotary.
