| Dennis Tipsword extends congratulations to all for the
success of the Trail Opening. |
| It is announced that Lee Sorensen will be appearing on
CNN (Comcast) during the month of August. |
| Rich Platz makes a motion to accept June’s meeting
minutes. This is seconded by Marty Osborne. |
| Treasurer’s report by Chuck Mabley shows an end of the
month of June balance of $5,396.03. Chuck asked for approval of $111 for
stamps. A motion is made to approve by Rich Platz and seconded by Marty
Osborne to accept the report and to approve the reimbursement. |
| Membership cards – tabled for next year |
| Covered bridge
| Neil Kocsis will start looking for funding of the
bridge, both money and lumber. |
| Architects – working on it. |
| Possible approval from the commission in September? |
| Start construction possibly next spring? |
| F.Y.I. – The Traverse City Trail has planets along
the trail. We could possibly use this as an idea of designating
educational themes, possibly plaques, along the trail. The information
could pertain to the Native Americans living in the area or be about the
history of the railroad. |

| Locomotive in Richmond?
| This could be very expensive. |
| How would we transport it there and where do we find
one? Searches will be made on the Internet pertaining to this. |

| July Trail Commission Meeting
| No meeting today |
| Next meeting is August 24 at 10 a.m.. |

| There was discussion of parking along completed
trail. The commission has not addressed this yet. |
| The Michigander might plan on using the trail next
year, if completed, as part of their trail ride. |
| The trail opening will be put in the newsletter. |
