Meeting Minutes for Tuesday, November 25, 2003

bulletMeeting is called to order.
bulletOctober minutes accepted.
bulletTreasurer’s report by Chuck Mabley shows an end of the month of October balance of $5,182.33.
bulletCorrespondence – None
bulletTrail Commission Status –
bulletJohn Crumm reports on some of the trail crossings of the trail. The 26 Mile and Mound Rd. crossings are not favorable. The Road Commission advises that the shoulder be used. They are satisfied with the condition of the West Road crossing. At Campground and Van Dyke it is advised the crossing be closer to the traffic light.
bulletThe easement committee is postponing Phase II and Phase III until next April. However, the trail will be purchased in whole by that time.
bulletDave Rumohr presented information from the Friends group to the Trail Commission Board. He gave them a handout of bridge crossing information which included information about the Lapeer City Bridge, a sketch of the rails, and lumber advice.
bulletThe information about volunteers from Sheriff Hackel was shared with the trail commission.
bulletHistorian report – None
bulletCovered bridge – Neil Kocsis will put another call out for confirmation of the dimensions of a bridge. If anyone has an architect connection that might be able to help us out with a covered bridge, please let us know.
bulletThe donation was sent to the Armada Civic and Trade Association.
bulletFor the three openings in this year’s election we have four nominations. They are Al Goetzinger, Marty Osborne, Dennis Tipsword, and John Tarantino. The ballots will be in the December newsletter along with a membership application.
bulletA motion is made by John Tarantino and seconded by Richard Platz to renew our liability insurance at a cost of $141 for the year. The motion is passed.
bulletRichard Platz makes a motion that we continue to meet at Camp Rotary in 2004 on the fourth Tuesday of the month. The motion is supported by John Tarantino. Dennis Tipsword volunteers to make the necessary arrangements with the park management.
bulletGive articles to Ted Gondert for the next newsletter. It is suggested that it would be nice to include covered bridge information.
