Dave Rumohr. |
 | Treasurer's report by Chuck Mabley shows an end of the month of September
balance of $5,336.97. A motion is made by John Tarantino and supported by
Dennis Tipsword to reimburse Lee Sorensen for $27.35 for printing costs. |
 | Correspondence - None |
 | Trail Commission Status -
 | Progress has slowed a bit. |
 | The commission discussed dealing with the policy of road access. |
 | Felt the "Plant the Seed" event was a success |
 | Dave Rumohr talked to Mark Hackel about taking advantage of volunteer
possibilities of those who need to perform community service. |
 | Engineers' report says existing condition of the trail exceeds strength
and integrity standards for construction. |
 | There was discussion about lights being placed at the 24 and 26 Mile
trail intersections. |
 | Talk of easements on three intersections 25/Shelby, Glacier Club, and
Campground. |
|
 | Applefest - Thanks to the volunteers who helped out at the fair. (Al
Goetzinger, Lee Tait, Dave and Lee Rumohr) |
 | Historian report - Rich is working on getting a railroad historian to talk
at one of our meetings. |
 | A new home for supplies has been found. A big thanks goes to Al Goetzinger
for putting up our supplies in his barn. |
 | Neil Kocsis is putting in a lot of time researching possibilities and
resources for a covered bridge. This will not be part of Phase 1. It is better
to have the Friends group sponsor or receive a donation. |
 | Lee Sorensen proposes we donate $50 to the Armada Civic and Trade
Association. It is agreed this would be a good p.r. move. It shows we show
interest and support in Armada. After discussion Dennis Tipsword adjusts the
motion to a $100 donation, seconded by Rich Platz. The motion passes. |
 | Nominating committee, comprised of Rich Platz and Marty Osborne, will seek
nominations for the next meeting. Those up for election are Dennis Tipsword,
John Tarantino, and Lee Sorensen. We are sad to say Lee Sorensen will not be
up for reelection because he is moving out of state. |
 | There will be no December meeting. |
 | The question is raised "Where do we go from here?" Dennis Tipsword
suggests that it depends on the commission. We should check with other friend
organizations for advice and ideas. |
 | John Tarantino announces the Board of Directors will be taking Lee and his
wife out to dinner at the Glacier Club Restaurant in honor of his dedication
to the Friends group. |
 | Motion made by Lee Sorensen, seconded by Chuck Mabley, to adjourn meeting. |
Next official meeting is Tuesday, November 25, 2003 at
