Treasurer’s report by Chuck
Mabley shows an August end of month balance of $5,079.09. A motion is made by
Chuck Mabley and supported by Dave Rumohr to reimburse Lee Sorensen for the
purchase of a planter. |

Trail Commission Status –

Report from engineers says
they are still dealing with road commission on issues such as lights and
easements. No work will be done this fall. |

“Planting the Seed” program is
rescheduled for October 6 at 1 p.m. Lee Sorensen, Art Crawford and Neil
Kocsis will attend. |

Dennis Tipsword will call to
see if he can arrange a horse drawn wagon. |

The estimated time line is the
bids will come in November. They will be awarded in December. In spring,
2004 the construction will start if all goes well. |

Peach Festival and Good Old Days
– A report by Lee Sorensen says we made about $300 at Romeo and $80 in
Richmond. This includes the sale of 15 shirts, 6 sweatshirts, and 5 new
memberships.

DTE Grant – No news. |

Newspapers were given to Rich
Platz to add to the history collection. |

Applefest (Oct. 11& 12) – We
will possibly find Armada members to staff. |

A new home is needed for the
trail “stuff” (i.e. shirts, tent, TV/VCR). Maybe we could store it in Al
Goetzinger’s barn? |
 |
Clean up (September 20) – The
weather was great. This was a successful event.
 |
John Tarantino makes a motion
to give Ted’s brother $100 for the use of the chipper. Ted will pass the
address on to Christine for her to send a thank you note. |

A certificate of appreciation
needs to be made for Little Caesar’s of Washington for the donation of
pizza. Christine will bring one to the next meeting. |

Trail Summit – Lee Sorensen
represented our group at the trail event in Bloomer Park. There were “trail
people” all over. He was impressed with Oakland’s set-up for trails and the
progress of area trails. |

Brochures? – Dennis Tipsword
makes a motion, seconded by Rich Platz, we use the color brochures from the
commission and print 1 ream of inserts with our application on it to insert
inside the brochures. One ream, or 1500, will be printed. After discussion of
the question of there being enough brochures for us to use it is decided there
most likely will be. |

New newsletter format – Did you
like it? Chuck Mabley makes a motion we go back to the 4-page format for the
next newsletter to save money. Dennis Tipsword seconds and the motion passes. |

Santa’s Barn Sale – We were
invited to the Macomb Oakland Regional Tack Sale. |
 |
Covered Bridge – Neil Kocsis
suggests that an ideal place for a covered bridge would be between 28 Mile Rd.
and Campground. It would be visible at this location to more people. |

New mailing list update by Dave
Rumohr says we now have 97 paid members with an additional 9 more added
tonight. |
