Meeting Minutes for Tuesday, April 22, 2003

bulletMeeting called to order. Bill Remer, HCMA was in attendance.
bulletLast months minutes were approved with the following corrections: The next MOTC meeting will be April 29, 2003. Martha Nitz donation is for native plants on the trail. Washington Lions Club Super Sunday date is June 1, 2003.
bulletCorrespondence: None. Dave Rumohr appointed Secretary for the evening.
bulletTreasurer’s Report was reviewed and accepted by the board. Current balance is $ 5429.70. Action item: Investigate the need for establishing a separate fund account for Earmarked donations similar to Martha Nitz. Motion to accept: John Tarantino / Dennis Tipswords. Approved.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

bulletWork Day – April 26, 2003. Meet at Onyx Ice Rink, 24 Mile/Parker and Dequindre rd.
bulletLee Sorensen has a pickup truck, chain saw, and a tractor currently available.
bulletA Wood Chipper is still needed. Various businesses, HCMA and others have been contacted. Lee will check with Romeo rental for a donation or reduced rate.
bulletTrail Condition from Dequindre rd. to 24 Mile rd:
bullet0.0 - .1 Two white tail deer to share the trail. Dozen pieces of large firewood.
bullet0.1 – 0.2 Scrap roofing shingles, approx. 2-wheel barrel loads. Lots of scrub trees on path. Plan is to clear cut back ten feet from both sides of the path.
bullet0.2 – 0.3 Tree blown over trail. Approx. 18 inch trunk with dozen large branches blocking trail. (Dave Rumohr, John Tarantino and Neil Kocsis will clear the trail Wednesday evening. Anthony Casasanta, Parks & Recreation, Macomb County will have a dumpster brought in and set at 0.3 miles for the trash pickup. Anthony was on the trail talking to an adjoining land owner about the trail cleanup day.
bullet0.3 – 0.4 Small scrub trees and brush to clear. Broken picnic table.
bullet0.4 – 0.5 Small scrub trees and brush to clear.
bullet0.5 – 0.6 Small scrub trees and brush to clear. Numerous piles of yard debris dumped along the 24 Mile rd. intersection.
bulletReport provided by Dave & Lee Rumohr from this afternoon.
bulletLunch will be tailgate style at Oynx Ice Rink. Pizza provided by Hungry Howies, 54734 Shelby rd. 248-656-3300. Thanks to John Tarantino for soliciting all the lunches for the three cleanup dates.
